Although to be fair I did get myself a tumblr account (username DamnBryony, look me up) so I've been more interested in updating that. Although I don't really do massively long blogs on there. I still stick to my theory that I only blog when I have something to complain about!

Danny has gone away for the week so I have a lot of free time on my hands - probably the reason why I'm blogging! Speaking of Danny, things are still going really well. I can't even put into words what I feel for that boy, so I won't.

It was my 19th birthday a week ago. On the 26th of June (my birthday is the 27th) at midnight, I walked 13 miles for Macmillan Cancer Support and raised over £800! I finished at 4.20AM (meaning it was now my birthday!), got to bed at 5AM and gt woken up at 8AM... so I was rather grumpy for my birthday! My mum gave me a massage, which really helped the pain in my legs. I got £175, lots of chocolate, a cardigan and some Ghost Deep Night perfume. :)

I was considering getting another tattoo with my birthday money... I wanted an anchor on my lower back (not in the middle, to the side) but decided to save my money for now, cause I really want to go travelling. I might wait until I'm travelling before I get the anchor done, it would kind of fit the meaning.

I'm having my last NLP session with Mark on Tuesday. I figured it was time to cut loose and put everything he's taught me into practice, or else I'm just going to end up repeating myself! It's also made me think abut myself a lot... there are a few people I need to apologise to, so I plan on doing that soon. As much as I don't want to (pride, haha) I feel it's what's best in order to let go of all those old negative feelings and move on up!

So that's about it... on the xbox front I get to spend even less time gaming now because my brother has fiished school for the summer and is on it all bloody day! I'm moving closer to 14,000G now, and I seem to be improving. I'm slowly moving through CoD 4 on Veteran, and also only have one boss battle stopping me from completing GH3 on Hard, grr!

Stay classy.

Whoops

It seems I've left it a while since I last blogged. To be honest, I think I only ever blog when I've got something to complain about! Anyway, I decided it was time for a small update.

Things are going from strength to strength. I've been with Danny for nearly two months now, and I honestly don't know if I've ever been quite so happy. I could blather on about how great he is, but I won't. I'll just say he is certainly something special. :)

But my happiness isn't just down to Danny, it's also because of Mark, the man I've been seeing for NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming). He has completely changed the way I think and feel about everything. It has improved my relationship with my mother, as well as with everyone else around me. It has improved my self-image... I can now look in the mirror and actually like what I see. I go out dancing and I actually enjoy it.

Photography has come to a standstill. I can't put any photos on my laptop until I format it, so I have stopped taking photos. Although I should be able to format it in a couple of days. I have also found a job to apply for as a Photographer/Trainee Photographer for Venture. It's a long shot that I'll get it, but I'm sure as hell going to try anyway. It would be an amazing job to have. It's funny, I would never have dreamed of applying before... but now I'm giving it a shot.

On the gaming front, I am now over 12,000G. I've been playing lots of Crackdown, it's fun! And I started playing lots of GH again. I'm now only 2 songs away from completing the GH3 tour on Hard. It's bloody frustrating! I still don't play that often, though... I want to buy my own xbox so I don't have to share with my brother.

Stay classy, stay happy.

Move On Up

It's odd how so much can change in so little time. I feel like a completely different person since I last blogged, and I feel so much better for it.

Shaun and I are over for good. The way things were with us, it wasn't making me happy, in fact, it was slowly eating away at what little confidence I have. So after weeks of wanting to, I finally plucked up the courage to end it all. I had hoped to stay single for a while, but I met someone I really liked and I didn't want to miss out on that. But while I may not be single, I still feel like I am getting to be my own person.

I've realised that it is actually fun to be social. I've started going out as often as I can, and it makes me feel so much better and happier. And I don't mean that I'm going out and drinking away my troubles, because I've not been getting drunk (except Mondays, aha), I've just been socialising, spending time with my friends... I think somewhere along the way I forgot what that's like.

I've been seeing a guy about my self-esteem, and after just to sessions I already feel like a weight has been lifted. He explained to me how my brain works, and we've been doing exercises to boost my confidence, it's made such a difference that I can't wait to go back.

As for those people I was having trouble forgiving... well, I adimt with the world of facebook at your fingertips it's always hard to forget about someone. But for the most part, consider them forgotten. I'm only human, though, right? :)

For the first time in a long while, I feel happy. I feel optimistic I don't even care that I have no plans for my future, I don't feel like a failure... I feel like someone who is just enjoying life day by day. Although Danny and I are talking about going travelling next year. Seeing as neither of us want to go to Uni and we both want to travel (just not alone) it seems a bit like fate. We're thinking of going to Australia, possibly Fiji, and then to Thailand or somewhere in Asia. It's just talk at the moment but I hope we can do it.

Photography-wise, things are slow. I'm lacking inspiration/motivation/the means to do anything I want to do... although I am trying to organise a photoshoot with a friend of mine using my 80-200mm lens for my 35mm SLR, hopefully that will go well. I've been trying to use my kit lens to do some macro photography, too.

On the gaming front, with my new social life and stuff I don't have a huge amount of time to game any more, but I am slowly moving towards 12,000G, aha. I took Left 4 Dead over to Danny's last night and we had fun playing it, it is an awesome game. I'm just waiting for CoD 4 MW 2, and BioShock 2.

Anyway, there's a little update. I should try to blog more often, really. I'm off to shop for clothes to wear out tonight.

Moving on

It's been a while since I last posted. A lot has happened and I guess I just haven't found the time... or perhaps I just didn't feel like having to reflect on these past few weeks.

My fiancé and I broke up. We both have issues we need to deal with and it's better for us to deal with those while we're single, as being in a relationship just puts added pressure on us. We're hoping that once we've sorted things out we can make another go of it, but of course there's the chance that we'll realise it's not meant to be. I don't really want to think about that right now.

I'm trying really hard to sort out my problems. I've been reading a book called "You Can Heal Your Life" and it's really helping. For years and years I've been holding onto so many bad moments from my past, and so many bad feelings and I'm finally realising that in order to be happy... I just need to forgive everyone involved, especially myself (I think that's the hardest part) and let go of all that negativity.

There's one person I'm finding it especially hard to forgive and let go. A girl I know, whom I despise. Why do I despise her? Because she reminds me of me when I was about 14. I've come a long way since then, but there are still elements of my 14-year-old self within me... so coming face to face with another version of me has left me... angry. What I can't stand most about her, is that she is incredibly stupid, but she thinks she's intelligent. She's awful at photography, but she thinks she's good. She's ugly, but she thinks she's more attractive than she is. And I hate that about her because I am the opposite. I'm intelligent, but I think I'm stupid. I'm good at photography, but I don't think I'm talented. I'm pretty, but I think I'm ugly. So I've come to realise that somehow she is helping me, because she's forcing me to address these issues in myself. And once I have I can forget all about her and leave her to her self-made miserable existance.

On a lesser note, my gamer score is over 11,000 now. Since moving back to my mum's, though, I haven't got an xbox to play on any more, so I'm just using my brother's whenever he's not playing it (which isn't very often, lol) and I've kind of lost interest in being such an achievement whore (ha!) and am now just trying to get up my rank on CoD 4. I'm currently level 31, I believe. Although I'm finding it impossible to play on my brother's tiny TV.

Photography wise, Shaun and I have renewed our love for it and have been taking loads and loads of photos. It's been fun, and we're going to do some semi-nude outdoor shots as soon as we can. It's great fun.

Stay classy.

Geek Chic

I always seem to start my blogs with "so..." and it annoys me. Anyway, what has happened recently? Shaun and I have told people that we're engaged now. My mum is happy for us, so is my dad, and Shaun still hasn't told his parents cause he's a wuss. :P He also bought me my ring. It's so pretty. <3 But he keeps threatening to take it away!

Photography-wise, I have some ideas that I want to try out but I need Shaun's help and he's usually more interested in the xbox so who knows when I'll get round to doing anything. I need to get some photos of my new tattoos once they're healed, too.

Speaking of xbox, my gamerscore is over 8,000 now. I'm still loving Left 4 Dead, and I'm pretty chuffed because I managed to get the Cr0wnd achievement (kill a witch with a single headshot). I ended up giving up on DOA 4, after finally unlocking Leon, I couldn't be bothered with trying to complete the other Story Modes so I just sent it back to LoveFilm. I finally completed Bully, and even managed to complete all missions, bike races, go-kart races, etc. but I can't be bothered to try and 100% complete it.

I also went and bought a pre-owned copy of Rock Band. Seeing as we have a mic, and two guitar controllers I figured we could just buy the drums some other time. I can't believe how easy the guitar solo tour is, it took pretty much no effort to complete it on hard. I think I failed two songs at the end, and only had to replay them once and just be more careful. I'm going through on Expert now, which is a bit harder but I think with some practice I can do it. I managed to 100% a song on Expert too, which was fun. The Band World Tour is fun, but time consuming. The 10G you get for each city really isn't worth the effort you put in, but oh well.

LoveFilm has also sent me Ninety-Nine Nights. I quite like it, but I'm up to the 5th mission with Inphyy and it's suddenly become really hard. So I dunno if I can be bothered to keep trying to complete it... I might just send it back and get something else.

For now... I'm gonna grab some peelz.

My Personality

Don't mind me, I just did this online quiz and the results made me laugh.

"The Visionary

You are charming, outgoing, friendly. The locals at work are interested in doing a charity calendar, with me as the photographer. I'm not sure if this will ever actually happen, though - or if I even want it to, considering I'll be shooting a bunch of old, fat men semi-nude, rofl. I'm hoping this is just a running joke, though, but they're being quite persistant!

The chef at work has also asked me if I can do some family portraits of him and his children, he's offered to pay me but I said no, he can just cook me some yummy food. A friend of mine is also pregnant, and has asked me to take her family portraits once the baby is born. Another friend is organising a charity gig soon, and has asked me to go along and take photos for her. So I'm happy that things seem to be moving along quite nicely.

In xbox related news, I'm a nerd. (Shaun told me I have to say that). I bought the extra content for Fable II and have now got all 53 achievements, woo. I'm also loving Left 4 Dead, especially Versus mode. It's pretty awesome, and me and Shaun totally own on it when we play together. I also rented Dead or Alive 4... rofl, it's really annoying. It doesn't even have an easy mode and some of the characters are crazy hard to beat. D: I'm hoping lovefilm will send me Rock Band next cause it looks fun.

In other news, Shaun is hot. Stay classy.

Happiness

I am SO happy! I have a few bits of news... one very important, some that no one will really care about but I'm happy about anyway. I think I'll save the best until last. :)

First of all, I got my tattoos done today. My super cute little Hello Kitties on the back of my calves. One is pink and is holding a little camera, and the other is blue and wearing some headphones. So adorable! They bled LOADS though, so much that the blue one looked red until I washed the blood off! It was so funny, it looked like a Hello Kitty massacre.

Second of all, I 1000 pointed my first ever game on the xbox! :D I'm such a loser but whatever, I'm happy about it. The game was Fable II, although they're releasing extra content soon with three extra achievements so I'll have to try and get those three too. I'm also happy because I was stuck on the 7th tier of songs on Guitar Hero 3, and a couple of days ago I managed to complete three of them. I'm still stuck on 3's & 7's, I swear it's impossible, but hopefully I'll somehow manage to do it and get on to the last tier.

And the big news... well, Shaun and I had decided not to tell anyone for a while but I'm so happy about it that I have to write it somewhere, so I figured I might as well put it here seeing as not many people who know me in real life read this. And if anyone who does know me IRL reads this, keep it quiet for now! Anyway... as of the 1st of January 2009, Shaun and I are engaged! It's quite funny, we went to see Yes Man and after it ended I turned and half-jokingly asked him to marry me... he said yes, and then when we were walking home he stopped me and said he was being deadly serious and if I was being serious too, we'd get engaged. So... ta da. I'm ridiculously happy, and we're saving up for rings now. :)

We won't get married for a while, though. I don't want to get married until I'm at least 20, plus we need to save up and stuff too, and more importantly... travel first! But I'm liking the sound of a Las Vegas wedding with some close friends right now.

Anyway, there's my happy news. Stay classy. :)

2009: A Great Year

Soo... what's happened since my last blog? Well, Christmas, for one thing. I didn't get much, and I wasn't really expecting much. Now I'm 18, no one really cares any more and luckily I was prepared for that. I did get the lens I wanted, though... the Canon 80-200mm f4 for my Canon AE-1. I can't wait to start using it because it looks amazing. Apart from that I didn't get much else, I got some new charms for my lovelinks bracelet (a dog and the Sydney Opera House) and some new clothes, some money, vouchers, and a mirror for my room, finally!

My photoshoot went really well. I've got some great photos, unfortunately no one else on dA seems to agree but I don't mind, as long as I'm happy with them. I really loved using the studio, and I'd like to do it again soon. But really I'd like to use a darker background and next time I'd like to play around with lighting ratios more. But hopefully now I'll be more interested in my photography, and since the weather should be improving soon I should feel even more up to it. :)

I had a nice New Years, my boyfriend and I went to see our friend's band pay tribute to the Specials in a Stars In Their Eyes night at the Marquee, which was fun. I spent ages putting on fake two-tone nails in the dark. :P Then we went to his brother's fiancée's parent's house for a party, and it was so lovely because one of the guys there proposed to his girlfriend at midnight.

I had completely forgotten, but New Years day is the anniversary of my Grandfather's death. Some people know that the wing tattoo on my back is in memory of him, so New Years Day is usually quite sad for me. But Shaun managed to do something to make it a happy day instead of a sad one, and I love him to bits for it. It feels like fate almost, I know my Grandad is pleased. :)

Xbox is going well. My gamerscore is over 5,000 now. And to think I only started playing in August. It's crazy. I have Gold now, as well. :D I completed the Hard career on Guitar Hero 2. I'm still stuck on the 7th tier of songs on GH3 but I'm practicing them, lol. I've started playing the Expert career too but I'll be amazed if I ever finish it. We rented BioShock from lovefilm, and I LOVE it! I had so much fun completing it, it's awesome. I've also started playing Halo 3, it's ok... but I figure I might as well finish it and get some achievements. Especially since I despise having games with only 10 or 20G so I feel compelled to complete it now just so I'm not left with that. Shaun thinks I'm weird, lol, I know I am. :P

My tragus piercing is no longer infected, yay. I'm glad I don't have to take it out. I'm gonna change the ring out soon so I'm happy. Although my nose is now playing up, I changed the stud yesterday and it healed over almost instantly, I had to force the new stud through. :( Piercings are annoying, haha. I much prefer tattoos, so I can't wait for Monday so I can finally have my Hello Kitty ones. :D

Stay classy. ;)

Looking Up

I think I've been stuck in a bit of a rut lately. Now that I live quite far away from the City, and with the cold weather, I haven't been able to see my friends much. I've also been too lazy to do any Photography. I've had plenty of ideas, which I could do quite easily, it's just finding the time and making the effort. Plus the light these days is awful, it just really puts a downer on everything.

But it's all starting to look up. A friend from work wants me to take some photos of her, and we've found a studio to rent for 3 hours, and it's only costing us £35. I'm SO excited, like you wouldn't even believe. If all goes well, I'll certainly be going back again and again to do more shoots. I'm hoping this will also give me the kick-start I need to get back into my Photography.

On the xbox front, things are still moving along. I completed Gears of War 2, and Shaun and I are going to play through it together on Hardcore to get the Co-Op and Hardcore achievements. I'm not scared of it anymore, either, haha, so I'm a lot better at it. I haven't been playing much Guitar Hero, I think I'm on the second from last tier of songs on the Hard career and I keep almost getting to the end, and then there's an annoying solo bit and I fail. So I'm gonna have to keep practicing. I got a free lovefilm voucher, though, 3 months free trial, so we're gonna rent a bunch of xbox games and play them. Should be fun. :)

Not much else has happened. My tragus piercing is infected, so I'm on antibiotics. :( Shaun has been ill, and I'm desperately hoping I don't catch it. I always seem to be ill in time for Christmas. I finally got all my Christmas shopping done, yay. Well, most of it. Just two or three people left to buy for. I think that's about it.

Stay classy, stay merry.

Guitar Hero

Okay, so I know I'm really sad for posting this but I honestly feel like this a big achievement for me! Over the past few weeks I've been playing Guitar Hero on hard, I'm getting better at it but I'm still 3-starring most of the songs so I probably won't finish the career for a while now until I practice a bit more... BUT I managed to get the Tone Deaf achievement all by myself! For anyone that doesn't know what that is, you have to play a song on Expert with the sound options turned down, and I did it. :D I'm so happy. Plus I finally five starred all the songs on Medium (still have to do that on GH2, though) and got the achievement for 250,000 score on a song. :D

And I remember when I bought the game and I told my boyfriend that one day I'd be better than him at it, and he laughed and said that would never happen... well I'm laughing now, ha ha ha. Except it's not really in his face cause now I'm doing all the achievements for him too.

Speaking of my boyfriend, it's our six months anniversary (or whatever you want to call it) today. :) It feels much longer, though. We've had our ups and downs but I love him to bits. Recently we've been arguing a bit because of my job, where I work I get hit on a lot by old (and youngish, sometimes) men, and he gets a bit annoyed when I don't tell them to piss off, but I can't really do that to customers. :P It's a lot easier to just ignore anyone who hits on me over dA or facebook (or god forbid even xbox sometimes!) plus he's not really had any experience with having to deal with this kind of stuff... his ex isn't exactly the best looking girl in the world, if you catch my drift, so he never really had to deal with people hitting on her. Ah well, problems or no problems he'll always be my little kitty sniffer and I will always be his cuddle bunny (but not his snuggle bunny because I hate the word snuggle :P)

Oh, and I thought I'd put up some photos from the gig I went to on Friday. They're quite funny, and people who read this from dA can see what I look like without a decent camera and lighting and of course, the wonderful thing that is photoshop. :P

The Receiving End of it All

Last night I went to see my favourite band, Streetlight Manifesto, play at the Queen Charlotte. I've seen them before when they were supporting Reel Big Fish back in February at the Waterfront, but this was so much better. Mainly because they played my absolute favourite song, The Receiving End of it All. I sang my little heart out to it! I would honestly recommend them to anyone, they've got awesome lyrics, a brilliant singer, and the horn lines send shivers down my spine, they're so good.

I got to see some of my friends who I haven't seen in a while, including my lovely best friend Rosi who was making me crack up all night. And of course Amy who is always a ray of sunshine in my life. :P The support bands were good, the first guy... Dan Hutrighershfe (can't remember :P) was pretty funny. He had a song about the KKK and finished with a song about hecklers that was awesome. Random Hand were on after, they're quite good but a bit too metal for my liking.

In terms of Photography wise, I need to take more photographs, but I'm too addicted to Xbox 360. My boyfriend bought me a new pair of sexy shoes the other day, and I have a gorgeous new skirt so I'm sure I'll be using them for some new photos shortly. I've also asked my dad to get me a 70-200mm lens for my 35mm film camera, so after Christmas I'm gonna be getting some film shots in. I can't wait, film always looks amazing.

As far as Xbox news goes, I'm as addicted as ever. I finished CoD 2 on Regular, and started playing CoD 3 but I don't like it much. I also started some missions on Vet which was hilarious. I did actually manage to get quite far, though, just need to finish them. :P I got back in to playing Gears now, too. It still scares the bejesus out of me, though, but I managed to complete Act 3 and get some other achievements for perfect reloads. Then my boyfriend and I started playing through Act 3 on Hardcore, which was funny. I died quite a lot (fucking Wretches) but I did actually manage to play and kill stuff without just constantly dying and waiting for him to revive me. :P

Wednesday night was my boyfriend's work meal. I had more fun than I expected, we took my 20D with us and took some funny shots of all the people he works with. Although we got completely ripped off when we bought some double vodka red bull, £7.50! Outrageous. Plus other things (and people) just generally amused me with their silly antics, so that was a fun night (and I got to wear my skirt and heels).

Anyway, Christmas is coming! I haven't done ANY Christmas shopping yet. I might buy everything online, it seems easier. :P I haven't decided what I want yet. I think I'm mostly getting money which I shall put towards my tattoos. But what I want to know is what is everyone else hoping for this Christmas?

It's a Saturday, it's a Saturday

Let's see what has been happening in my oh-so fun life since my last blog? Well my tattoo is now finished, as anyone who watches me on dA will now know. I am so in love with it, it's beautiful. I'm just making plans for my next one(s).

On the gaming front, I am getting more and more addicted. I've completed CoD 4 and 5 (on Easy, lol) and am now playing CoD 2 on Regular. I'm gonna keep at it until I can play on Hardened, and then who knows, maybe I can even knock out a few missions on Vet. :P I also got a Gold 48 hour trial so I could play some CoD 5 online, I went from getting 3 kills and 16 deaths to getting 8 kills and 9 deaths, lol. Won't be long before I get less deaths than kills, hopefully. :P My boyfriend keeps calling me a gamer. I'm still denying it. xD

I was going to write a blog about criticism. But I can't be arsed to dedicate a whole post to it. I've been thinking about it lately, about how hard it can be to listen (or read) to someone who is criticising your work (or anything, really). On dA, I am very happy to read people's views on my work, what's good, what can be improved, etc. I may not agree with all of their opinions, but the ones that I do agree with, I try and use that to help me improve my work.

I work in a pub as a waitress/bar maid, and the chef who works there constantly tells me I'm slow, I'm useless, etc. Once it really upset me, although he was being harsher than normal that day, and I ended up crying. Since then I've noticed something... whenever I see him criticise the other waitress, Sophie, he always turns to me and winks and laughs. Now whenever he's telling me I'm slow, I just laugh and tell him he's gay/lesbian/bisexual/ugly. I guess I learned that sometimes it can be hard to tell when someone is just joking, and when they're really criticising you.

Good Morning, Planet Earth

So, what has been happening in my life as of late? Honestly it seems like everything and nothing! I've had major stress coming from Carphone Warehouse because they're idiots who can't upgrade contracts properly. And also because I forgot I had a debit coming out of my bank account... all of this is costing me over £150 over the next three days. Yay.

I'm also 2/3 of the way through my second tattoo. It's absolutely beautiful and it means the world to me because my boyfriend has one just like it. It's going to be finished on Thursday (could be another £100 going on that) so I am super duper poor right now. :( I'm already planning my third (and technically fourth) tattoos, which I shall get around Christmas time hopefully. But I'm keeping the design a secret for now.

In other news I am addicted to games. Oh dear! I've been playing Fable II like a madwoman ever since my boyfriend bought it. I decided I wanted to actually be able to play shooter games so I've been playing Gears of War on Co-Op with my boyfriend. It makes me laugh but it's fun... although the beserkers freak me out! My heart was pounding, I get way too into these games! Also I have improved enough to be able to play C0D! That makes me so happy because I really enjoy playing it. I only play on the easiest setting at the moment but once I've done that I'll move up to the next difficulty. Oh and for anyone else who plays XBox 360, my gamertag is DamnBryony (no surprises there) so add me!

I'm being so lazy with my photography. Blame the XBox, it's far too addicting. I'd take some right now but I've been crying so I don't look too good. Silly arguments, eh? :( Maybe tomorrow.

Also I've been meaning to book my driving lessons, I've had my provisional since August. But now my dad says he can't afford to book them until January so I'm kind of sad. But I'm going to revise my theory and try and book that as soon as I can so once I do start my lessons I won't have to worry about that. (Y) Then I just have to buy a car and I can drive off anywhere I like, get naked and take some photographs, rofl. :D

Stay classy.
